We will do our best to accommodate everyone regardless of their ability to make a donation.

This experience is part of Ellxs. Ellxs is a year-long exhibition comprised of a series of experiences conceived by trans, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, and queer Latinx artists and makers. Their work engages dance, food, holistic medicine, music, fashion, design, gardening, mutual aid and other practices. Collectively, they summon moments of care and joy that challenge the world as it is and give glimpses of the world as it could be.  Inspired by the writings of late scholar José Esteban Muñoz, the exhibition aims to highlight the ways queer people of color subsume dominant forms of creative expression to create their own. As such, each experience is shaped uniquely—broadening what we’ve come to expect from encounters with art and culture in spaces like ours. At a time when legislation across this country attacks the rights and sense of personhood of trans and queer people, this exhibition reminds us of the critical role cultural practices have in building a collective imagination that leads us to better tomorrows. The exhibition begins with three experiences in Spring 2023 and will unfold episodically through March 2024.

About the Practitioners & Artists.

Paolo Flores Chico is a trans Filipino acupuncturist who enjoys floating in water, hiking with their dog Kiko, and eating everything. Paolo believes that without accessible healthcare, the end of capitalism, and the liberation of all, we will never truly be well. In 2014 they created For the Love. For the Love includes a private practice, wellness workshops, and a donation-based event series for and by Queer & Trans BIPOC. Events have included community acupuncture, sound healing, qigong, massage, free food, care packages, and art.

Anna Luisa Petrisko works in video, performance, sound, installation, textiles, and immersive media. Her art is invested in the sacred as much as it is interested in technological speculation, exploring future and ancient ideas at a non-linear tempo. She investigates the body as a site of paradox - transcendent of time, space and form. Her work is grounded in community and archiving histories. She collaborates with many artists and friends. These shared works build relationships and cultural communion.

Adee Roberson is an interdisciplinary artist whose work is a mediation on symbolism and texture. Synthesizing performance and installation, her work melds vibration and technicolor visions through paintings, video, and melodic compositions. Adee also works as an energy healer and neuromuscular massage therapist.

Zumi is a multi culti crafter, community rascal, and textural chef who is sometimes professional about it. He’s currently working on surviving kitchens, while honoring his dignity, creativity, visions for healing, and curiosities for deeper ancestral healing connections.
