A party celebrating artist Oscar Murillo’s daughter’s 4th birthday becomes the VIP reception for TMR’s inaugural show and a performance that explores the complex interactions between social classes.

About the Performance.

Valentina’s Birthday is a party, performance, and opening reception for TMR’s inaugural exhibition, Oscar Murillo: Distribution Center. Building on Murillo’s interest in spaces and moments of leisure and the ways through which they facilitate interactions between distinct social classes, this performance will transform invited guests into both active participants and spectators. Artists, curators, collectors, gallerists, and other art world figures will join the artist’s family, relatives, and friends for this experiment in social inversion where everyone will be encouraged to perform an equal role.
