About the Artist Talk.

Artist Erick Alejandro Hernandez joins TMR Executive & Artistic Director César García-Alvarez for a casual IG Live conversation that will explore narrative painting, memory, and storytelling. This artist talk series, titled Magical Chats, is staged in conjunction with TMR’s current exhibition, Sueñx, that brings together 26 Latinx artists to explore the legacies of Magical Realism.

About the Artist.

Erick Alejandro Hernández is an artist from Cuba living and working in Miami, FL and Brooklyn, NY. His work explores memory and its reconfigurations of lived trauma. He received his B.F.A. in painting from Rhode Island School of Design (2017) and has been a fellow at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2017), Oxbow School of Art (2018), and The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program (18-19). In addition, he has received a Scholastics Awards Alumni Micro-grant (2019) and an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant (2019). He is currently completing an MFA at Yale.
